Happy Friday ATX! SXSW PT 2 Edition #10 🤠
3/15-3/17
Happy Friday ATX! It’s National Everything You Think is Wrong Day. 🤠🤨
At first, I was just as confused as you are, but when I read the description I actually sort of like the concept.
Check it out!
“The observance may be a time for all to contemplate our own lack of knowledge. It is okay that one does not know everything, and if there is a need to feel as if you do, hold on. Tomorrow will be here soon, and then once again, you can think that you do!”
It’s humorous of course, but I find it relevant. Sometimes we all need to take a deep breath and understand how vast the world is, and how little we really know in the grand scheme of things.
Embracing that is the key to growth. It’s the key to living an interesting life.
Stay humbly curious my friends.
Now let’s get into it!
Weekend Forecast: We’re still in the thick of SXSW and this weekend is just as packed as last! It’s going to be another epic and potentially very rainy weekend, with 50-60% chances of showers from Friday to Sunday.
We have shows from 2 Chainz, Golden Dawn Arkestra, and Tierra Whack. Smokeouts with rappers, comedy shows, NBA games, and so much more.
Links to all RSVPs and Tickets are at the bottom of this newsletter!
Best thing we drank this week… Instead of alcoholic drinks for this segment this time. Let’s do something else.
We love Boba, and there are quite a few hype chains for it around town.
One of them is called Gong Cha, and they have several locations!
They have tons of options, but we got the Earl Grey Milk Tea and a Thai Tea Latte with boba added and they were both a perfect refreshing treat. As someone who doesn’t consume a ton of sweets, I love that you can adjust the sugar levels here. I went with 50% and it was just right.
Next time you get a craving for a refreshing drink but don’t want to swing for a cocktail or a soda, hit up Gong Cha and grab some boba instead!

If you enjoy newsletters, here are a couple of the ones that I have been enjoying lately…
Smartr Daily - a fantastic newsletter for curious minds that delivers thought-provoking insights daily.
Self Development Snack - a weekly easily digestible self-development newsletter to help you hone your discipline and reach your highest self.
Most fun we had this week… If there is one local band I look forward to seeing more than anyone else, it’s Golden Dawn Arkestra.
They played a show at Hotel Vegas last Saturday and as always they brought the house down.
A massive stage presence of 12+ individuals, their music is a mind-bending blend of funky-jammy psychedelic rock, with musical influences from all around the world.
Check them out here on Spotify.
If you like it, you have another opportunity to see them this weekend!
Details are down in the events section!
Golden Dawn Arkestra
New Business that we want to try… Toasty Badger is a modern take on your classic diner that is now inhabiting what was once Austin’s first Dairy Queen.
My sister went recently and said the food was delicious and to try it ASAP. Looking over the menu, I think she’s right.
It’s diner fare but with some tasteful culinary tweaks. Think biscuits and gravy, french toast, Monte Cristo’s, smashburgers, etc. all with their own unique tweaks that make them a bit more interesting than your classic diner dishes.
This will for sure be the destination next time I want a tasty brunch.

I stumbled upon this unique Japandi-inspired home in East Austin's Govalle, designed by CoXist Studios and built by SmartDigs Homes. The concept of merging both Japanese and Scandinavian vibes is what drew me in, and the result is a striking little East Side Sanctuary. The home features an open layout, beamed vaulted ceilings, and ensuite bathrooms. The chef's kitchen boasts Bosch appliances, custom wood cabinetry, and Caesarstone countertops. Every detail, from the entryway tile to landscaping, showcases meticulous attention. Enjoy private outdoor spaces, including balconies and an expansive deck, surrounded by mature trees and drought-resistant plants. This home embodies architectural excellence, with a blend of Asian influence and modern design in a booming location.
Check out all of the details here.

Why does Austin Fire Engine 11 have a taxidermy squirrel on its dashboard? I knew I was putting this in the newsletter before I even read the article. I mean look at that headline. 😂
I’ve seen the one in Breckenridge and it’s a spectacular work of art. This troll statue will be right at home in Pease Park!

Every year at SXSW I meet a ton of awesome people from all over the country, but that only happens if you put yourself out there and talk to people.
Pro Tip: Ask people about themselves. You’ll develop better connections when you’re curious about others. I bet you’ll be surprised by what you learn and who you meet.
Hope to run into some of you out there this weekend!
Cheers 🤠🪩
