Weekend Forecast: BRRR! āļø A low of 38 degrees this weekend will be the coldest we have seen so far this fall! Even though itās a slower weekend there are plenty of fun events indoors and out so bundle up and get out there!

Best thing we ate this weekā¦ Thanksgiving meals duhhhh! I am no joke still full.
No but seriously we had some good food this week. We went to Meanwhile Brewing for a birthday this past weekend and I tried out Songbird for the first time. I had a hard time deciding on what to order because I saw soooo many people with the smash burger and it looked fantastic. I had just eaten a massive ribeye that I smoked the day before though so ultimately I settled on a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I was happy I did because it was super crispy, had enough heat to wake me up, and it wasnāt too oily. The fries that came along with it were a thicker cut but had a delicious seasoning and dipping them in the cilantro lime ranch was a move. If you find yourself at Meanwhile Brewing give Songbird a try!

Most fun we had this weekā¦ In one of the earliest newsletters I sent out (I think it was #3) I featured a pizza place that is still my favorite pizza in Austin. Itās called Sammataro and itās over on the East Side at Camp East.
They have been doing really well for themselves and on Wednesday night they had their grand opening for a new location up on 37th Street dubbed Sammataro Sports. The crowd that orbits Sammataro always seems to be young, ambitious, and fun to connect with. Most importantly though, the food is absolutely top notch. We had the wings and a pepperoni pizza with char cup pepperoni and hand pulled mozzarella. I also had a whiskey drink that was phenomenal, although I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called.
Their grand opening was the most fun I had on this somewhat slower Thanksgiving week, and Iād recommend giving them a follow and keeping an eye out for all of the happenings there.

Milk Bar is a New York founded dessert kitchen blown into a nationwide brand that makes incredible sweets. They have done many pop ups around the country including some in Austin over the years. The first one I remember here was around 5 years ago when I was bartending for South Congress Hotel and they hosted it there. Now itās hosted at The Loren Hotel for the entire month of December (1st-31st) and if you have a sweet tooth you should definitely go. I know Iāll find myself there at some point over the next month and I canāt wait!
