Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 Edition #48
Check out the best holiday activities in Austin this weekend and more! 🌆❄️⛸️🍸
Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 it’s Friday the 13th (the last one until June!) and National Hot Cocoa day! Check out this detailed list of all the places to grab a steamy cup of hot cocoa in Austin!
In Texas, sometimes you have to work extra hard to make it feel like the Holidays with the lack of a true winter…
Luckily there are boat loads of fun Holiday activities in Austin this month though, make sure to get out there and take advantage of them before they are gone!
With that said, lets jump into this weeks newsletter!
But first a meme…
Weekend Forecast: Billy Strings at Moody Center, a free Gary Clark Jr. show, a Nike Studios Jingle Jog, and a Charity Gala at Circuit of the Americas, it’s a busy weekend in Austin and these are just some of the experiences on offer.
Temps are jumping back up into the upper 70s, and it will be mostly cloudy all weekend, with a chance of rain on Saturday. ☁️🎸👟

Best thing we ate this week… Kalixmoto. This is a tapas spot that is the sister restaurant to renowned Austin Restaurant, Hestia. Both of these are under the Emmer Hospitality umbrella that recently received numerous Michelin accolades. We had a few of the Tostas (the oyster mushroom and quail egg one 🤩) the iberico ham plate, shisisto peppers, tuna crudo, garbanzo bean stew, and of course I can’t go to a tapas restaurant without ordering patatas bravas! I also had a cocktail called the Clear as Day that was their twist on a mezcal negroni which was a very booze forward cocktail that still managed to be perfectly balanced and smooth. I definitely recommend it for an elevated evening with friends or a nice date night.

Most fun we had this week… We went to the Ice Rodeo at Four Seasons this week and it was honestly so much fun. Often I find pop up Ice rinks to be gimmicky and not that much fun, but leave it to the Four Seasons to curate an experience. I valeted the car and we were told to follow the trail of lights around the back of the hotel and so we did. The dazzling path of lights led us back to the area where the ice skating rink was set up right by the lake, with a backdrop of the downtown city lights, and they had really outdone themselves for this. There were servers wandering around, always ready to take your drink order, the holiday drink menu was the best I have seen with drinks that weren’t just full of creme de menthe or overloaded cinnamon. They have themed nights on the calendar, and when we went it was “sip and skate” so we got to choose a complimentary beverage when we arrived, but each night seems to have something different on offer so check the calendar.
Pro tip: Make sure to take advantage of the complimentary hot cocoa and apple cider!

New Business that we want to try… Con Vista Al Mar is apparently one of Mexico City’s most beloved Taquerias and they just recently opened up a location in Austin! It’s located on East 7th Street right across from one of our favorite bars The Flower Shop and they’re going to be slanging coastal Mexican dishes, tacos, frozens, tequila, mezcal, beers, and more! I don’t know about you but I love Mexico and the coastal cuisine on offer down there. They have happy hour 2-5p Monday Wednesday and Thursday which includes $8 frozen drinks and $5 specialty tacos. Catch us smashing tacos here after a game of pool on the leopard print table (IYKYK) across the street!
