Weekend Forecast: Lots of fun happenings this weekend from Weezer at Moody Center, to my little sisters bands album release party at Hotel Vegas, to Austin Coffee Festival and more.
I can feel fall coming. The high is only 91 this weekend, which is kind of hilarious to me. 91 degrees and weāre celebrating the weather ācooling downā š

Best thing we ate this weekā¦ Gas station pizza. Sounds sketchy right? Well usually youād be right, but when it comes to Giovanniās Pizza inside of the Valero at the intersection of Barton Hills and South Lamar youāre wrong. The owner was a chef in a fine dining restaurant for years before opening this spot, and its the real deal. They have a real pizza oven and make everything to order. The food here is seriously good, and not seriously overpriced.
Pro tip: Donāt skip on the spicy Caesar salad or the Margherita pizza.

Most fun we had this weekā¦ If you arenāt familiar with Laguna Gloria, itās a fabulous historic lakeside art gallery and home to the Art School at The Contemporary. I hadnāt been in years and the expansion since my last visit has been significant. This place was way cooler than I remember, and if youāre looking for somewhere to spend your day lakeside surrounded by beautiful art, this might be the only place in Austin to do that. I donāt think I could paint an accurate picture of just how cool this place is with my words so I am just going to encourage you to go see for yourself.
Pro tip: Itās free on Thursdays.
Laguna Gloria
New Business that we want to tryā¦ I love a good sub sandwich, and Iāve seen this place being mentioned by quite a few of the trusted Austin food heads over the past few weeks. Knuckle Sandwich recently opened up in The Yard food truck park down off of South 1st Street and theyāre using top notch ingredients serving up subs like the Lamb Sammie, a sub made of slow cooked lamb, tzatziki, āan absurd amount of fresh herbsā, beets, and horseradish. Needless to say this place is gonna need some further investigatingā¦ š§
