Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 Edition #34

Check out the best things to do in Austin this weekend! 🎸🏈

Happy Friday ATX! 🤠 It’s National Read a Book Day! Go check out Austin Central Library if you haven’t and grab yourself a lil something to read 📖

Today I want to ask you if you believe in yourself?

What is it that you want to achieve? Do you, in your heart of hearts, believe that you can do it?

If you don’t… why not?

I catch doubt creeping in every once in awhile and do my best to slam the door shut in its face. We have one life, and to shackle yourself by not having full belief in your ability to reach your highest potential, would be an enormous shame.

So this Friday I just want to tell you that you can do it. Whatever IT is, you are capable, you are more powerful than you know, and the only 2 things that could possibly be standing in your way are information and action.

If you gain the information you need to gain, and if you take the actions you know you need to take, then there is no reason why you can’t do whatever it is that you dream of doing.

And with that let’s jump right into this weeks newsletter with a meme!

Honestly it’s any old apartment in Austin not just Riverside 😂

Weekend Forecast: This weekend is packed and the highs are in the 80s for the entire next week! Woohooo!

Texas plays reigning National Champions Michigan, (and my band has yet another show at Austin Garden & Studio for the watch party) Whitney Cummings at ACL Live Moody Theater, BatFest, the annual Hot Sauce Fest, and so much more.

We told you last week that Austin is only going to get busier as we head into the fall and we are so excited! 🐂🍂🏈

Best thing we ate this week… Awhile back I promised a full feature of one of my most consistent go-to spots ever since it opened in 2018.

Loro is the brainchild of Aaron Franklin and Tyson Cole and is an Austin, Texas staple. It’s Texas BBQ meets Japanese flavors and the smokiness and tanginess come together to create hands-down some of my favorite flavor profiles in the world.

If you haven’t been, it needs to be near the top of your list. We went during happy hour because they have one of the best happy hours around ($5 frozen cocktails and a handful of amazing bites under $10). We ordered chicken karaages, sesame noodles, a caramelized onion cheddar burger, coconut garlic rice, an incredible wedge salad with brisket burnt ends and miso blue cheese, 2 frozen aperol spritz, and a frozen gin & tonic to wash it all down.

They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and it's the type of restaurant where you order and pay at the counter and then all of your food is brought to you, so you don’t get stuck waiting around after you finish eating. Like I said this place is a go-to for me, and it's a spot I make sure to take all of my friends and family to when they come to town. We really love Loro and think you will too.

Most fun we had this week… As I have mentioned before, I’m a huge Formula 1 junkie and a nerd for all things motorsport, so when tickets to Lone Star Le Mans landed in my lap last weekend, obviously I said hell yes.

Lone Star Le Mans was a 6 hour race with multiple classes of vehicles and drivers all taking to the track at once, it’s such a fun race format to watch because it is action-packed and the cars sound great. We saw race cars from every manufacturer from Ferrari and Lamborghini, to Ford and Toyota racing out there.

I love going to COTA every time I get the chance to do it whether it’s for Formula 1, Moto GP, Lone Star Le Mans, or even just Cars & Coffee. I think a lot of people forget that the racetrack plays host to a lot more events than just Formula 1 each year, and it’s always worth taking a gander to see what they have going on out there.

New Business that we want to try…  Katz Deli is coming back to Austin! So this isn’t exactly new as it is an Austin classic that is making it’s return but come on… Katz Deli. Pastrami. Corned Beef. Fried Pickles. Cheesecake. Open 24 hours?!?! I am super excited for this to return, and the coolest part is that they’re returning to the very same building that they left many moons ago.

If you are anything like me and you hate doing your laundry…. this sponsor might be for you!
