Happy Friday ATX! š¤ Itās National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day! Go support a local business!
I read a quote this morning on one of my favorite Instagram pagesā¦
āSpeed is undervalued. That doesnāt mean you should feel rushed. But you should eliminate things that are blocking the mental space for what you truly want to do. Stop letting the days drift by waiting for the moment to be right.ā
And I just wanted to remind you all to make time to make progress on the things that you truly want to do this weekend. Donāt overthink. Donāt second-guess yourself. Donāt tell yourself youāll try whenever the circumstances are right.
You wouldnāt have the idea if it wasnāt yours to execute.
Keep it simple. Do the basics and do them consistently. Often thatās all that needs to be done to move the needle.
I donāt know what your dream or vision is, but I am rooting for you to make it a reality just as youāre supporting mine by being subbed to this newsletter! š¤š»š¤š»
Now let's jump into what's up in Austin this week! But first a memeā¦

Weekend Forecast: Highs in the 80s, lows in the 60s, and apparently not a lot of sun on the forecast for this weekend. (hehā¦ weāll see about that)
This weekend is Easter weekend, so of course there are some Easter festivities mixed in with our favorite DJs and comedy shows. š°
Spring is springing. So whatever you do, make it a point to get out there and smell the wildflowers. šŖ»šŗ

Best thing we ate this weekā¦ Austin is a total brunch town. I mean there are some serious heavy hitters in Austinās brunch game from Phoebeās Diner to the heavily praised Suerte, but amongst my favorites is a quaint little spot on the corner of a building thatās on the corner (woahhhā¦ itās like a cornerceptionā¦) of Brazos and Cesar Chavez.
Forthright Cafe has solidified itself as one of our go-to brunch spots. From the brunch burger to the french toast, a perfectly spicy bloody, the specialty coffees, and more. They have yet to disappoint.
When we went this past week Kiana ordered the gluten-free french toast with maple syrup, fresh berries & dusted with powdered sugar, (you would never even know it was gluten-free it was soooo delicious!) a forthright delight latte, two poached eggs, and a side of bacon.
I ordered the pork belly benedict - house-made pork belly served on a toasted English muffin, fresh chives, poached Vital Farms egg, and southern-style hollandaise served with a side of home fries - with a spicy bloody Mary.
I did enjoy the pork belly benedict quite a lot but I think I prefer the brunch burger - a smash burger on a brioche bun with bacon bourbon jam, American cheese, and a fried Vital Farms egg served with tater tots - that I ordered last time.
Either way, I doubt youāll be leaving this place disappointed.
The food is outstanding, the service is some of the better brunch service Iāve had in Austin, and the beverage list is substantial. (both alcoholic and NA)
Check it out next time youāre in the mood for a hearty brunch!

If you enjoy newsletters, hereās one that I have been enjoying latelyā¦
Smartr Daily - a fantastic newsletter for curious minds that delivers thought-provoking insights daily.
Most fun we had this weekā¦ If you are new here, or even if youāre a seasoned Austinite who needs a reminder to get out into nature now that weāre seeing some consistently nicer weather, this one is for you.
One of the best things about Austin is the amount of nature intertwined throughout the city. We are so lucky to have the Barton Creek Greenbelt system. (even if itās been a little dry latelyā¦)
There is so much beauty down there. You can hike for miles on different offshoots and see things you havenāt ever seen before, time and time again, if you are adventurous.
One of our favorite ways to do the Greenbelt is to go to Tacodeli on Spyglass (featured in edition #9 a couple of weeks back) and slam some tacos, then walk across the street and straight onto Violet Crown Trail to hike along the creek bed until we feel like turning back.
Reminder: please be respectful when you go down there, pack in pack out.
If you donāt know what that means, it means everything you bring in with you also comes out with you. With the privilege of having spaces like this comes the responsibility of taking care of them.

New Business that we want to tryā¦ I love a swanky New York-style tavern, and thereās a new spot from the team behind Nickel City Bar that opened up back in December, which is exactly that.
We havenāt gotten the chance to check out Murrays Tavern quite yet but mark my words, it will happen soon. From the photos I have seen and the chatter I have heard from friends, I have high expectations.
I mean check out this menu!

Check out this super cool condo that used to be St. Ignatius Church! It's just blocks away from the buzz of South Congress. This place is all about chill vibes and open spaces, with huge cathedral windows lighting up the main hangout area.
Downstairs, there's a sweet master suite where you can enjoy a walk-in shower or kick back in a standalone tub for some me-time. They kept the old stone exterior looking sharp, and there's this awesome courtyard with a couple of giant live oak trees right next to it. It's like your own little sanctuary. š
Check out all of the details here.
